Urea level sensor No.1 circuit high

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The SCR control unit monitors input voltage from the urea level sensor No.1 while the engine switch is on. If the urea level sensor No.1 signal voltage is above 3.12 V for 5 sec., the SCR control unit determines that the urea level sensor No.1 circuit voltage is high.
Monitoring condition
•  Battery voltage: 8—16 V
Diagnostic support note
•  The MIL illuminates if the SCR control unit detects the above malfunction condition in first drive cycle.
•  The SCR warning light flashes if the SCR control unit detects the above malfunction condition in first drive cycle.
•  PENDING CODE is available if the SCR control unit detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data are available.
•  The DTC is stored in the SCR control unit memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Urea level sensor short cord connector or terminal malfunction
•  SCR control unit connector or terminal malfunction
•  Open circuit in wiring between urea level sensor short cord terminal E and SCR control unit terminal 90
•  Open circuit in wiring between urea level sensor short cord terminal F and SCR control unit terminal 10
•  Short to power supply circuit in wiring between urea level sensor short cord terminal E and SCR control unit terminal 90
•  Short to power supply circuit in wiring between urea level sensor short cord terminal F and SCR control unit terminal 10
•  Urea level sensor No.1 malfunction
•  SCR control unit malfunction

VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA AND DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS HAS BEEN RECORDED
•  Have FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) or snapshot data been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Information availability.
•  Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform the repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY CURRENT SIGNAL STATUS: IS CONCERN INTERMITTENT OR CONSTANT?
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Start the engine.
•  Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Intermittent concern exists.
Perform the “INTERMITTENT CONCERN TROUBLESHOOTING”.

INSPECT UREA LEVEL SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the urea level sensor short cord connector.
•  Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT SCR CONTROL UNIT CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the SCR control unit connector.
•  Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT UREA LEVEL SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
•  Urea level sensor short cord and SCR control unit connectors are disconnected.
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Inspect for continuity between following terminals.
―  Urea tank temperature sensor short cord terminal E (SCR control unit-side) and SCR control unit terminal 90
―  Urea tank temperature sensor short cord terminal F (SCR control unit-side) and SCR control unit terminal 10
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace wiring harness for open circuit, then go to Step 9.

INSPECT UREA LEVEL SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER
•  Urea level sensor short cord and SCR control unit connectors are disconnected.
•  Switch the ignition ON (Engine off).
•  Measure the voltage between the following urea level sensor short cord terminals and body ground.
―  Urea pump pressure sensor terminal E (SCR control unit-side) and body ground
―  Urea pump pressure sensor terminal F (SCR control unit-side) and body ground
•  Is there any voltage?
Yes
Repair or replace wiring harness for short to power, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT UREA LEVEL SENSOR NO.1
•  Inspect the urea level sensor No.1.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the urea pump, urea tank component then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P203D:00 COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the SCR control unit memory using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON for 5 sec.
•  Retrieve the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?
Yes
Replace the SCR control unit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
10
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
